How long will a power station run a space heater?
This is the scenario that surprises people: a 1,500W space heater is the worst possible load for a power station. Resistive heat converts watts straight to heat with no efficiency to exploit, so even a large station empties in a couple of hours. The honest answer is usually 'not for long.'
The load
- Space heater (1500W) — 1500W running
Field note: For warmth on battery power, a heated blanket or a 12V seat-style heater draws a tenth of what a space heater does and will run all night on a small station. If you truly need 1,500W of resistive heat for hours, a fuel-burning generator is the right tool — this is a case where a power station is the wrong fit.
Right size: Expandable home backup (≈6,000Wh+) · 5,000W
Backing up whole circuits through a transfer switch; add battery modules for days of autonomy, especially with solar. A home-backup system, not a grab-and-go unit. For 240V loads or true whole-home coverage, compare against a standby generator.

Different loads or runtime? Uncheck and re-check below and drag the runtime slider — the plate recomputes live.
Capacity includes inverter loss (~15%) and a usable-charge margin, so the station isn't run flat. A solar panel or vehicle charge extends runtime past this number.
